More fiddling of the fuel system today. I think I could probably change or at least remove and angrily shake a pre-pump and sending unit in about five minutes now.
Anyways. Laying on my stomach under the car, I can see four hoses. There are the three main hoses (delivery and return from the sending unit, and the hose to the roll over valve) from one opening. Slightly above that and more towards the passenger's side, there's a tiny little hose, maybe 1/8" ID that doesn't seem to be connected to anything. I don't remember seeing this before, it doesn't seem to smell too much of fuel, but the area around it looks wet.. but again doesn't really smell of gas (and that entire area is filled with twenty odd years of driving muck.
Looking thru the other side of the car, I can see where the three hoses poke thru, but not that fourth. My best guess is that this should have gone to a vent fitting on the accumulator or to/from the charcoal canister. Unfortunately the accumulator that was in there didn't have a third fitting, and I can't find anything that looks like it's missing a connection.
Help?
Volvo electrical systems are SO overrated.
