Urgent plea fromthe road...

Hey Dude,

I am running a 55amp Bosch alternator from a 1980's 240 in my 1966 1800S and there are no problems. I did have to modify the top adjustment rod. You know the one with one bolt in the block and the other to adjust the tenson on the generator. You might need to get a local shop to cut a weld it. I cut mine an inch from the block bolt hole and angled it about 30 degrees. (That is a really rough guess and mine has been on my 1800 for over five years). If you can't get it welded then a hack saw and "JB Weld" from the local parts store might get you home.

Good luck and I hope you complete your trip safely. Let us know how it turns out.

Oliver
