Power Window power source? 200 1982

The relay sits on the rail below the center dash air vents, beside the two relays that openate the central door lock system.

It is a SPST relay. Here are the connections and stock wiring colors:

#85 SB to a ground and to the connector into the driver's door. (SB is Black)

#86 BL-Y to Fuse #12 (85 and 86 close the relay when a switch is pushed)

#30 BN to Fuse #10. This is main power to the motors

#87 Red, two wires, on to each door. Power to the motors when the relay is closed.

Looks like the harness into the driver's door has four wires, R, SB, W, and GN.
The harness to the passenger door has two wires, W, R and GN.

This info is from my Volvo Wiring Diagram Service Manual for the 1984 240. If your Volvo has the 12-fuse panel and not the newer 16-fuse panel, there may be differences in a lot of things, expecially the color codes.

Good Luck,

Bob
