5th gear - transmission switch? 200 1986

I have been having trouble with my 5th gear. it is not a mechanical issue as I had posted this on the forum some time ago but lost the emails assocated with answer, so I am looking again.

Here is the issue - I have a 245 GL 5 speed, 5th works sometimes and if it does not I have to hold the shifter in the 4:30 position for it to engage. If I release the shifter it will kick out of 5th. I know others out there have had the exact issue, not simiar too but exactly. I hope that someone will again answer my question as in the past.

Last time someone told me that it is the 5th gear switch that needs to be replaced - is that the 5th gear solinoid? or is it something else. I am sorry I forget. thank you!
