Timing Belt & Lambda light 200 1984

If you have not done so, get yourself a Haynes Automotive Repair Manual, 240 Series, 1976 thru 1993, all gasoline engine models.

That one covers the B23 rather nicely, with relevant pictures. It's the B230F that requires the special tool or the rope trick to hold the crank steady, not the B23.

You must remove the pulley in the front of the crankshaft, and I caution you to be careful. There are nuts and bolts. 6 total. The nuts are of a soft material, and are easily rounded off. Use the 10mm socket, a 6-point is best, and be sure it is straight on. A rounded off nuts is a royal PITA to remove. BTDT

Other information is in the Haynes. BTW I saw one on eBay today that was going for $3 at the time. AutoZone or other parts houses sell them, around $15.

Good Luck,

Bob
