High Hum at high speeds 200 1982

I have been having a problem with my 82, 245 and just cannot figure it out. There is a high whistling noise when I am driving at high speeds. It happens even when I am not in gear but reacts immediatly when I am, and I press the gas on and off. The hum goes higher and lower with the change in the amount of gas I give it. Usually starts humming around 90Km/h, but sometimes after 20 minuites or so dies away. I live in fairly warm climate and am now in a very cold one over the holidays. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I thought it might. I can't place where the sound is coming from when I am driving, but I am pretty sure it is in front of me. I am also pretty sure it is not a whistling from the wind as it reacts more to the revs of the motor then my actual speed. Anyway I would greatly appreciate some help with this one. Thanx
