AW55 or BW55? 200 1979

I just want to keep it going for my daughter. The three speeds are cheaper to find and put in. She mostly just drives it local. I looked at the tranny to see which it was and there was a label place but no label. BUT molded in front of the label place was a stylized AW and behind it was the Borg-Warner logo. It looks like the Japanese may have taken the BW tranny, molded it with their AW logo. Since it doesn't matter I will probably find a more plentiful AW at a local junkyard. Every gear but drive works and it is not the kickdown cable. I will try cleaning out the old fluid and put a new filter and fluid in first just to see it that changes anything. I can't imagine a simple fluid change and filter change would give me my drive gear back. Any thoughts?
