Newbie with a 945T and a few questions.... 900 1993

Hello guys!
My wife and I just added a '93 945T to our "collection". It is leaking some coolant below the overflow tank. I aim to pull the hose this afternoon and check things out, then re-attach and re-tighten. Is the coolant regular old Prestone type coolant? Sure looks like it, although the manual says not to use anything but Volvo coolant. Hmmm?
I did a compression check yesterday. Pulled fuses 1 and 11 so I didn't get fuel. Checked out okay. Front to rear-155,165,170,175. Seems pretty good for 127k miles. When I tried to start the car today, it didn't want to run. Finally got it started by holding the gas slightly while I cranked. The check engine light stayed on. Will this go out after a few normal starts? Idle is generally low, even when fully warmed up. Possible causes? TPS?
I greatly appreciate any info you folks can offer.
