Ignition problems are back after all! 200 1983

There was a recall to install new ferules on the pin connectors of the ignition computer.Seems that some of the pins where not making good contact.I did this modification on my 83 240 and it helped. Then I had a problem with the single wire connector going from the ignition computer to the coil. This connector is subject to corrosion so I eliminated it.This wire(white with red stripe)has a shield on it.Fold the shield braid back and connect the main wires together.Soldering the connection is a good idea.Apply electrical tape or shrink wrap. After I did these two repairs never had another problem.Volvo eliminated these two weak areas in later models.
