Chris - good insight. I went out and checked out the LS400s. Those are big cars - 4.0 V8 engine. Is there a RWD, I-6 engine that you like? I know you'd be in the know on these cars.

Want to run this by you. Found a local S90 - 85k. One owner (they are the sellers). Indy shop maintained. Have all records. Car is supposed to be in ex int/ext/mechanical shape. They did say no major issues (ever) - I specifically asked about engine, brakes. When I look at in person today, I will look at maintenance history, and make sure of timing belt change, cooling system service/repair, engine repair. Anyway - I think I can get the car for about $9k. Maybe less.

Volvo owner famiy. My guess is they went to trade this in on their new volvo and the dealer 'insulted' them with a lowball, wholesale offer. Probably hard to swallow after they paid nearly $40k new for the S90 - six years earlier.

I would have it checked out by my indy shop first. But if all systems are go, what do you think? (I'm the mechanic for our 940s - so I know them inside and out - and other than the engine/tranny, this car shouldn't be too much different - which to me, would be a plus)

Question for you about the MB W124. What's the last year they made this engine? And what year/models MB do you like? This may be an option. I too will never buy a MB or any car with any kind of 'air operated' suspension. What a nightmare.
