Pictures of the 'flat hood' conversion on my '80 245! 200 1980

The weather couldn't have been more perfect for the conversion.

This is how we all knew and loved my 1980 245 DL before:



Well, yesterday I spent a couple of hours converting it to the "classic" single headlight look:







As you can see, I haven't yet swapped hoods with the car I pulled this stuff from, but I wasn't able to do that alone. It results in that extra bulge where the old grill went.

I even tried it with the old grill, but I decided against this look:



Here's what's left of the car I pulled the stuff from (1976 245DL)... I'll have to make a trip to the junk yard to replace the stuff I yanked from it before I get it running.



Either way, I'm excited about the new look. It was surprisingly easy actually.

Soon, I'll put a pair of Cibie headlights on from IPD...
