Unexpected acceleration 200

I am looking at purchasing a 1992 245 for my 16-yr old daughter. They took it as a trade from an elderly woman who bought it brand new, has taken great care of it, but got rid of it because of one bizzarre incident. She was pulling it into her garage, had slowed to a stop, and then the car accelerated forward without her doing and crashed into the front of the garage. There was no damage to the vehicle, but according to the service manager at the Volvo dealer who always performed her service, she refused to accept that nothing was wrong with the car (he thought it was human error). Upon further inspection (after taking it in trade) the dealer found a cracked throttle cable, but still doesn't think this caused the incident. I'm still having the cable fixed for ~$100 (if I buy it), but want to make sure there is nothing else wrong.

I have the utmost confidence in 240's (we've owned 5 between me and my parents), but wanted to see if anyone had heard of such a problem.
