HELP! 120-130

Ok, last minute assembly emergencies... I will probably have a few more of these, but here is the first round...

I have this Unilite distributor and it has what looks to be a proprietary optical trigger in it (w/4 cyl. shutter of course). I am looking at the diagram for the Crane XR700 (I got a used one with nothing but the box) and it looks like they want you to put an optical trigger in the Unilite distributor for them to be compatable. Is that nessecary if the Unilite already has the Mallory one? Basically, will the wires hook up? Anybody done this? Anybody have different parts they could overnite me? This car has to start tomorrow for me to be on schedule and it is becoming a panic.

Back on the coil... I ended up buying an el cheapo internally resisted coil for 12v as a get by for the initial start-up. I dont want to be bothering with a potentially junk coil and the thing was only $20. Will this work with the Unilite and Crane set up? Anything to watch out for.

On the performance end of things, how limiting are the cheapo coil and some conductive silicone 7mm wires?

Thanks,
Josh
