87 240 AC conversion to R134 ??? 200 1987

My daughter's AC lost it's R12 over the winter. She is complaining. She will be driving this baby for another 2 years. Otherwise it is in great shape.

I suspect the low pressure hose from compressor to expansion valve has a leak because there is oil around the fitting from rubber to metal down near the compressor.

Any wisdom hints etc. on the conversion? RPR sell a kit for $260 containing:
new oil
O rings
Expansion valve
evaporator
dryer
HP hose

I think it is the official Volvo kit. Is this the best way to go? Is the new evap really needed? Should I perform a flush of hoses and condensor?

I understand that I must remove compressor and drain all the old oil but that's OK because compressor mount bushings are shot anyways and the compressor pulley is at an angle to the belt. I have vacume pump (adapted from an old refridgerator compressor) that sucks down a good vacume, guages and all required tools and knowledge (I think) to do the job. Converted by old 740 a few years back and have replaced the evap on my V90.

Looking for the wisdom and experience of the experts.
