Why are there more Volvos in the Northeast and Northwest? 200

I think it's because Volvos are built for cold weather. That's why there are so many Volvos available in the Northeast and Northwest parts of our country. I live in the south and I NEVER see a Volvo in the junkyard nor do I see many on the streets. What's your opinion?
