Canadian B23E's 200

I am the second owner of a 1982 240GLT. 211k kms on the clock when I bought it in 1997 from the dealer that had sold the car originally. It had been a wedding present from a man, who on their 15 anniversary bought his wife a new 850R. Can Volvos be responsible for high mileage personal relationships as well?

321k Kmz now and its up on the blocks for repair of the crank rear oil seal. This will be second rear oil seal repair during my ownership. Seems this engine tends to push through them. Perhaps high crankcase pressure for some reason. Anyone any ideas on this?

I did not know anything about the B23E engines before I purchased the car other than it was the higher output, non-turbo version available in 1982. Having driven a B21A with the Zenith carb in a 1982 245DL for 410k Kms I am very familiar with the get up and go. The B23E seems to have a lot of giddy-up. Net searches on the engine model confirm that I got lucky and have an engine with even more potential however I am not really seeing much from folks who have actually done somethng with this engine.

So, are there any other lucky B23E owners out there and what have you done or found out.

My current fleet includes the 82 242 GLT, 85 244GL, 95 850 T and 96 850 GLT wagon. I have owned: 82 245DL, 85 245GL, and a 85 740 Turbo. Besides being stuck in the 80's, I have done all my own maintenace on these cars and all repairs that did not absolutely require shop tools.
