Go to the 700/900 FAQ Feature Section on this site (link at the top of the form page). Read through the Engine Tune and Performance Symptoms section -especially the diagnostic stuff. My guess is that your system relay is going south (they can sometimes be re-soldered). It could also be a failing RPM sensor on the bell housing.
