help on electrical circuit. 140-160

The 164 is just fine... sitting at the back of the house. Summer has not yet arrived here in New Zealand. Looks like either a later Summer or a cold, wet one. It almost feels like Cape Town Autum weather! Lots of wind and rain almost every day. It is so bad that visitors are packing up and going home. And in the mean time I've worked on my wife's 240 under the new car port I've built a few months ago (next I'll build one for the 164).

The exterior trim is in bad shape, and I'm thinking of leaving all the chrome off after the repaint. Then from the back it will look exactly like my 144. Some of the chrome looks like an overkill to me anyway. Especially on the wheels. Perhaps I'm just used to the clean looks of the 144!

Had an interesting one on the 240. A few days after heavy rain the engine started cutting out. Took me 2 hours to figure out the fuel pump stops running. All the time I did not expect the fuel pump relay, because 2 years ago I've resoldered all the relays. Turns out that water leaked into the car and down the cables, into the fuel pump relay! Some solder joints were already badly corroded, but I've managed to fix it up and coat it with protective stuff. An hour later the car was running fine again.

Have fun...
