I hope some of you could give me a few pointers - I suspect the fuel pressure regulator but could it possibly be the ecu coolant temp. sensor? I have been reading the 700/900 FAQ but would like to try asking as I'm hoping to narrow down the problem. I checked voltage at the O2 sensor and it seems fine -making sure it was warmed up before testing. The car was running ok for a bit but as soon as it started running rough I checked the O2 sensor and it was at .2v so it was trying to compensate for the lean out. All four plugs are white at the center electrode. It runs like it is steving for fuel and it will do it even when cold so it really doesn't matter what temp. the engine is at. Both fuel pumps are working and it never actually stalls out but it hesistates off the line and wants to go - it's on and off as it will pickup and run evenly with near normal power before craping out again. It is fairly cold out here right now, about feezing point or a bit below so I wonder if that had an influence on the pressure regulator which has been on the car awile but I do not know if it is the original one. The car has around 350,000 kms. on it. Any help would be appreciated - I have no way of testing the fuel pressure of the regulator - there is no smell of fuel. If it is not the O2 sensor it seems to boil down to the temp. sensor and /or regulator from what I have read. The wiring to the sensor looks ok. I noticed the connector to the distributor broke off but I must have cracked it putting on the cap last night- is it posible to leave it for a few days before replacing as I wonder about it hanging there.
