urgent - shop waiting - cost to replace cracked head?

Since they discovered the crack AFTER the machining, it would be nice of them to make some allowance in the cost of machining the second head - like don't charge you anything for the first one.

Also, I see some risk in installing the second (unknown) head without some valve work. If you are planning to keep the car for a while and you consider what a valve job would add to the already costly head replacement, it seems rather foolish to not take steps to assure good valve condition.

There's my $0.02.
