1991 WET CARPETS 𖜤] HELP A DESPERATE BRIT PLEASE! 900 1991

Hi Guys,
Please help a Brit in distress-
I was reading a post that was about wet carpets but had some problems with some of the Americanism's in the post. It said something about drains from the air intake grill but don't understand where I look to check this out.
I have wet carpets on the drivers side (RHD) and also rear on the same side but the carpet between the two is dry. Also centre and firewall area is dry.
Have no leaks from door seals or windows and as the firewall area is dry also I have ruled out heater matrix and windscreen leaks and leaks from any grommets that pass through the firewall. The only thing that I can find that doesn't look right is the rubber seal at rear of hood has come away from the plastic clips that hold it to the firewall but only 3 have come apart but it's hard to get the clips out without breaking them. Do you think this maybe my problem or should I look elsewhere?
Thanking you in advance, a desperate Englishman.
