obdc diagnostic 2 codes 700 1988

AAHHH the sweet taste of victory? After pricing all the parts (RPM sensor, coil, ECU, etc.) to fix it myself by replacing parts (I swore this car would not be towed to the Rover/Jaguar/Volvo dealer) I realized it might cost more than I paid for this wagon. I put a cobweb filled mind full of all the FAQ's and 'won't start' posts, my previous trouble shooting and OBDC results that all indicated proper sensor operations, and my determined wizard to the test. I stumbled across the realization that if I turn the ignition to crank the engine (dash lights out) and then slightly back to KPII (dash lights on) I get ignition (and take off) every time. A little further back then SRS warning light also goes out. Might be a problem in the key switch?
