turbo ticking noise 700

'87 740 Turbo

Well, I just replaced a section of the vacuum line which goes from the engine side of the throttle body through the firewall (turbo guage line??). It had some cracks and a leak where it had rubbed through against the manifold.

Now while driving under boost I can hear a faint ticking on the exhaust side of the engine. Not the usual turbo whine. Frequency goes up with RPM. Did not notice it before. Seems it gets a bit quieter after running for a while.

Could the fact that I am not running lean anymore (with the air leak) have changed something?
Exhaust leak?

Any ideas?

Thanks
