Door issues -- window scraper mounts 120-130

Hi,

The outside rubber window scrapers on my '65 122S needed replacement on the driver side, and installation on the passenger side (all gone). With some patience the driver side went well, but my real problem is the right side doors.

It turns out that some previous owner has taken them off, which I already knew and which troubled me (rust/water inside door? need to investigate). But the tricky part is that the long piece of metal that holds the scraper in place is loose/bent, so it won't hold a new one.

I've tried to look at how it's mounted. On the front one there is a screw at the front of the window, but taking that off doesn't buy me much. It sort of looks like weld/solder spots at a couple of places, could it be mounted onto the chrome trim on the outside? If so, how do I get the trim off without damaging it?

Any help would be appreciated. :-)
