Snow chains don't fit 900

Heavy snow fall has forced me to buy chains for my 940. Already have 4x Michelin Alpin snow tyres (here in France), but occasionally need the extra grip for hill climbs. Trouble is, cannot seem to fit them right. And I'm now away for two weeks and left my wife to sort this out.

Am running 195/60x15 snows on a slightly wider non-stock alloy and matched the correct size to the set of chains, also made by Michelin.

Cable fits around inside of the rim and chains (X type) sit well over the tread/sidewall but the tensioner chain doesn't reach far enough across the face of the wheel to fit properly.

Am I going wrong somewhere? Hard to believe the wrong size chain was in the sealed box?

Any ideas?
