engine dies when I turn the headlights on

Come to think of it there was one wire I sliced and spliced, ONE that I figured to be both perfectly safe and logical to disect. This would be the new heater blower motors' GROUND WIRE. The old unit had a ground wire leading to a near impossible to reach area (if I remember right), so instead of trying to find and reach the bolt (the original ground source for the old blower motor) and swapping wires, it seemed more feasible to find a different ground source for the NEW blower motor. I did so by cutting the eyehook from the end of the new ground wire, extending the length of the wire by about six inches using a typical wire nut and then re-crimping a NEW EYEHOOK (or whatever they're called) to the end of my NOW MODIFIED ground wire. I then secured the eyehook to what I had assumed to be a PERFECTLY GOOD ground source because there were about five other ground wire leads sharing the same bolt. I figured it would be all good to just add ONE MORE EYEHOOK to the group. Did I figure wrong?
