Speedo Capacitor Replacement Help Needed 700

>>Hi,
Was your speedo the Yazaki or VDO and what year model?

Mine is an -88 VDO. ABS equipped (shared sensor for rear ABS and speedo)

>>Mine is Yazaki. Each digit in the odometer has its own window. I believe the VDO has one odometer window.

Yes, mine has only one window for the odo and trip, respectively.

>>Replacing the speedo needle concerns me. I would imagine correct replacement is critical.

Don't be overly concerned, just pull while turning the needle counter clockwise. But of course, don't use too much force such that you break the needle. Pe patient, and it will eventually come loose!
Upon replacement push and rotate the needle until the needle rests at 20 km/h as it did from the beginning.

>>You make reference to the 'number plate' and the need to peel it off. It appears to be a thin vinyl like material that would easily stretch and mishapen. Is this the case?

'Number plate' may not be the best word. I'm not a native English speaker!
Having said that, it is actually quite thick and to my surprise It could be bent quite a lot without stretching the material. I tried to peel it off without bending it more than 45 degrees.

Your help is appreciated, thankyou.
