major repairs for a 1992 940 turbo

Another set of questions:

I was told by a friend who owns a couple volvos 760 and 850R that I need to do a major repair to my 1992 940 turbo with ONLY 64k miles. He told me it's not the miles but rather the years. He told me to do the following:
- engine valve repair
- change engine rings
- change the radiator
- change the A/T fluid
- replace suspension bushings and arms
- buy an A/T reapir kit???? - the only problem I have now is the solenoid for O/D
- buy new koni or sachs set of shox

ANY ADVICE??? This sounds to me like a $4,000 invoice. With that money I can buy half a car
