AC microswitch 200

When properly charged mine have always shown some bubbles in the sight glass as pressure builds up then just a few bubbles when up to pressure.

It's a real pain to try to tell the difference between an empty/very low system and one that is up to pressure. I swore the one in my '84 was fine but decided to add some R-12 anyway, about 1lb into it I started to see bubbles, turns out it was just barely full enough to trip the pressure switch but not full enough to make any bubbles.

Your best bet would be to start the car, switch the AC on and go out and look. If you see bubbles while it builds up pressure then nothing, you're probably OK. Somehow I don't think you will find this to be the case, it would be cool at least if it was.

It "should" be labeled if converted, as you know R-12 is very expensive. I have had a few friends that have used compatable refrigerants to replace missing R-12. Keep in mind that if you do this it really pisses off a shop that may get it's equipment contaminated by mixed systems. Not an issue if you plan to keep doing it yourself.
Good luck
