I have a power steering rack 200 1988

My 1988 244 M47 NA has a power steering leak. I found the fluid driping off the splash pan. Last week I had checked the level and it was low, so I added fluid. It was again low a week later. I first had a problem with low power steering about 2.5 years ago, at witch point I have had no problems until last week. So, it seems to be leaking faster, and I wonder where it is coming from. since it is dripping from under the splash pan, does this mean that it is the rack? If it is, how will I fix it? If I can't fix it my self, and hafe to pay labor, would I be better off just having a new rack installed. I hope to do it my self, as I'm a non-rich college student. The car has 171,000 miles on it. Thanks for any information and happy bricking.
