6 Volt battery cable 444-544

The "1" gauge is probably American Wire Gauge (AWG) although if it were
BWG or any of several others the sizes are mighty close.
The 0.5" diameter includes the insulation so even at that (if you'll remember
the cars we had when we were teenagers and even most Euro cars still had
6 volt systems) it is not any too big! I would go for 0 or 00 gauge for
a main battery cable.
