Another 'hard start' question 700 1991

I have read the FAQs and searched this forum several times and didn't find one particular suggestion as to what the likely problem is. The car is a '91 740 non-turbo automatic 4 cyl. w/155k. in very good shape (regular mainenance performed).

Symptoms: excessive crank time (5 - 15 seconds) before starting. This does not happen every time...just 50%. When starts won't idle w/o slight throttle input Seems to be fuel starved for 5 or so seconds then runs fine through all situations. This happens both cold and hot but seems to be more frequent when hot or in the sun for long periods (paint is black).

I have seen the following listed as possibilities:
fuel pressure regulator,
fuel inj. relay,
radio suppression relay,
fuel filter,
fuel pump,
engine speed sensor,
various wiring scenarios,
etc, etc.

Before I start replacing things adhoc, is there a list of the "most likely" problem parts listed in decending order?

My strategy right now is, clean the IAC, test/replace the FPR, inspect relays.

Thanks for the input! I've learned a lot about the car from this board!
