In-tank pump to supply carb? 200 1980

After a lot of grief with the K-jet system on Susan's 245 I am seriously
considering putting a carb on it. (I understand them better than K-jet.)
(Yes, I DID get the D-jet system on the Yellow Peril working OK.)

Anyway I am wondering, since the in-tank pump seems to put up about 5 psi,
how it would work with, say, an HIF6 carb. Would I need a pressure regulator?
I already have a single carb manifold, most kindly furnished by Bram Smits.

Any comments on this would be most welcome.
