Looking to buy our first Volvo 200 1991

My trusty old '85 6.2L Diesel Suburban looks like it's finally bitten the dust. The wife and I are looking to buy a Volvo wagon to replace it, and we got a line on a '91 240 wagon w/166k miles. We had a look at the car last night, and it looks good - no obvious oil leaks; one small rust spot inside the driver-side door jamb; straight; well-maintained/documented; stereo looks like it powers up, but doesn't come on; A/C good; power windows working; paint (metallic blue) is flaking in some spots (mainly the hood); has a NEW automatic transmission...

We've talked to the local Volvo shop (not the dealer) about the car, and they've known it for a while, and know it to be a worthy machine (they were actually the ones who told us about the car in the first place).

The seller is asking $3200, which seems high based on the research we've done (we're thinking $2500 max). Can anyone offer us some insight?

Thanks in advance for any info/advice,

-dave
