Hello,

I may have a miracle cure for you. I had many of the same symptoms in my 71 145. I installed a new ignition switch and voila! several problems were solved. After this amazing cure to many problems including hard starts and run-on when turned off I concluded the old switch was creating so much resistance the car started hard. Likewise the switch got very hot while running and would partially complete the circut even after turned to the off position.

Give it a shot and I bet you will be surprised!!
