No Spark 1800

Ok, I disconnected the wire going to the points and then touched that wire to the condensor, it indeed went boom and sparked (isn't that bad for the condensor?). I also disconnected the wire leading to the condesor and connected that to ground, that made a spark too. I checked my distributor and everythign looked good there. Any ideas?
