I don't really know. I do all my work myself, other than machine shop type work. You might try these guys in Bridgeton:

I've never had any work done by them but one of the guys there (correctly) diagnosed a busted timing gear on my PV from across the parking lot. And tossed a new oil cap seal on for free while looking over the engine.

And PS - replacing the cap could have been the issue. The other one may have had faint cracks and been leaking spark to ground when the resistance over the plug increased when the throttle was opened. Sometimes weak 'leaking' spark energy like that can go away when the engine is warm because the heat drives moisture out of the cracks, and stops the current leakage. Cool, humid conditions and the problem crops up again.
