You just rebuilt it so the end-play for the input shaft worm is spot-on, right? Not much point in adjusting the output sector if the rest isn't tight.
Grease? Well, that's your choice.
Typically leaking oil from these things is one of three things, overfilled so some is forced out the filler plug (very common), fitting of a rubber-lip style seal dry (caused micro-cracks that only get bigger) or tearing seal on installation, and bent cover or inadequate/dirty gasket/shim material under the input shaft worm cover... This one is trickier as it causes an itty bitty gap for oil to get out of (this should be very tight, if you had to be gentle with the cover screws then it needed more shims or thicker gasket material).
If it leaks oil it will eventually leak out the grease too (not to mention water intrusion).
