Idler arm changes: early to late 444-544

Unfortunately, the image my Glenn's repair manual shows as "steering idler arm" is different than what the Volvo factory service manual is saying. Page 6-14 (Steering and Front Axle Section) of the factory manual shows that the bent arm is for early production cars and the "straight" arm is for later. Belinda, you a I both are tinkering with 1957 444's. It's possible they switched to the "later" style in '57. ???
