You need to find out exactly WHERE it is leaking so you can attack the problem
directly. I doubt the pan is leaking and normally the pan gaskets are pretty
good too if properly installed. Places I would look include the oil pressure
switch, the oil filter, the front main seal (especially if it is felt) and
maybe the breather box.
To drop the pan without removing the engine you have to swing the engine and
drop the front crossmember (complete with front suspension) to get enough
clearance. It is almost as easy to pull the engine. If you are going to do
a lot of suspension work and only a little lower-end work it might be easier
to drop the crossmember.
Be sure all the breather passages are open and if you have a pcv valve make
sure it is clean. If you have the small orifice you might want to drill it
a little bigger (not much!).
