made some progress on it today 120-130


Yes, that's kind of what I feared with the geared system which I have.

I decided to try taking the arms off the posts and re-adjusting them slightly back in the other direction. That seems to be a bit better, now that they don't hit the rubber and trim on the rightward swing. They are now going slightly over the rubber on the leftward swing. I can't seem to find the perfect medium between so that they don't over-extend in one direction. I don't run with trim, so chrome-wear and tear is less of a worry for me.

Thanks for everybodies' input.

I used some black silicon also during a dry spell today and it seems like that's keeping the water out now. Battling the water rusting issue seems to be a constant little thing demanding attention with this 40+ year old car! Right now it's just a conserving issue from the rust for as long as possible until I can some day afford the space to properly take it all apart and do a ground-up restore and paint...
