Hi brokenbmr,

Has the transmission fluid ever been changed? If not, chances are that when you remove the dipstick you will find some pretty dirty, black tranny fluid. If this is the case, I recommend flushing the fluid ASAP with a good synthetic ATF like Amsoil or Mobil 1. I just flushed the tranny in my V90 a couple hours ago with Mobil 1 ATF. The fluid was dirty, but not overly. I flushed about 9L of non-synthetic fuild through it and then about 7.5L of Mobil 1 ATF. Anyway, if the fluid is a nice pink/red color and doesn't smell burnt, everything should be fine :)
