Can I be happy with a non turbo?

My 2cents. I have been driving an 85 740 non-turbo. I bought it new in 85. I just recently added a turbo to it. I was tired of hitting the gas, and nothing happening. I went from 28-30mpg to 25-28. Yes I moved up in octane, but that didn't matter. Mine is a M46 with overdrive. I can't see myself going back to a non-turbo.
