Minimum clearance between piston and head 120-130

Thank you Mr. Parker,

I pulled the motor from a PV at the wreckers. The motor had previously been rebuilt and fitted with .020" over pistons. I did measure all the pistons, with feeler gauges and straight edge at multiple points across the pistons. Center 2 were at .032" and outer 2 were closer to .034". I measured over and over and over and over and over and kept coming out the same so i'm fairly confident in the measurement.

I hadn't even considered the bearing clearances. They are in good shape, however i didn't bust out the plastigauge. They are undersized but i forget the details.

Considering my less than ideal measuring techniques, i want to make sure and leave a safety margin to account for any error. Maybe .026" would be better?

I measured my 2.0l b18 and they were down .014". I'll check the 8-bolt b20 i have and see where it's at.

My wife wants to know what to get me for Xmas, I might have her order a T5 adapter from you (I don't exactly need it yet as i'm stilling searching for the tranny.)

You don't have a better option to rid my 64 122s of it's m41 do you, with less tunnel cutting?

much respect,
curtis m. white
