All I can say is I've saved a lot of money owning my Volvos. I have never had a car loan for more than a year and am heading towards 300k on one that cost me $1700. For me it's about choosing a car that's easy to deal with mechanically and that can take a beating.

I don't meet a lot of people that agree with me, but usually they have no experience or facts to support their prejudices. I have anectodal evidence that they are fine cars. I have owned many and have been happy with each of them. In fact, a couple of times I sold to a newbie and converted them to the cause. One guy has become one of us in a big way and thinks he ripped me off he loves the car so much.

Certainly you realize that you're not going to get much traction with your views here. I'm sorry you feel that way, but I don't agree with you. You can rant about facts all you want. My facts apparently don't align with them.

No-one can convince me to listen to Nora Jones either and it seems the facts suggest she's a great singer. It seems a lot of people disagree with me. That doesn't mean I'm wrong when I say that I don't like her voice and think she sounds like straight-to-elevator more than jazz. Of course, I realize that those who like her aren't wrong.
