Nate, I installed a one wire GM 60 amp with built in regulator on my car a couple of years ago and it has worked fine. I did have some problems with the mounting bracket being bolted solid to the block and the viberation breaking the alt. pivot bolt. I finally modified the original rubber mounted generator bracket (to the block) to accept the alternator, and that took care of the problem. I have some pics if you are interested. good luck
