Couldn't agree more with Allen. I repainted my 144 with one of those polyurethane clearcoat paints with metallic dark blue base and the results are awsome. A friend of mine painted his 78 Datsun 280 with regular paint at about the same time ( 4 years ago), and his is requiring a new paint job already. These new paints last much longer, require less waxing, are more scratch resistant, and have a mirror finish, especially if oven painted.
Go the whole nine yards with the paint job. Afterall, you already saved thousands on the other goodies the car came with.
