Problems starting 200

The spark plugs and distributor cap & rotor are easy to change and should be every 50k miles. Your later model 240 has an electronic control unit (ECU) that stores fault codes. I don't know how to read the stored codes on your model. On later models, you plug in a scan tool. The chain auto part stores will do a free scan. Hubby is right, long continious cranking will kill the starter motor. It gets hot and the insulation fails or the solder melts. If you post what city you are in or near, someone will probably recommend a fair, honest Vovlo mechanic. jp
