After installing steel 1990 240 wheels 15x6 with 195/60-15 Michelin Arctics (flat, wide tires), the car now pulls to the right. These replaced 165-15's (rounded, narrow tires) on 15x5 OEM wheels. The additonal width seems to be all on the outside. The brakes are fine. Tire pressure is fine.
The 165's were slightly worn on the inside edge. I'm thinking remove a little positive caster from the right side, (add a shim at the rear right upper a-arm bolt). Steering is not too stiff, but maybe easier. New balljoints and bushings are all around.
This is an old, twisted, but intact and pretty strong car. I think factory specs won't quite do it.
Are those inexpensive camber/caster gauges worth the minimal cost?
