ROW, ROW ROW. Get in the car with the engine off but the key in so you can move the selector back and forth. Do this about 40-50 times. It will wipe the contacts engough that the switch will probably function agaain. If the car was in limp home mode, it might take a couple of starts to clear it so it functions normally again.
